Abstract

A control system for controlling the relationship between a first and a second quantity to a given ratio value comprises a first control circuit (P1, C1) for controlling the first quantity based on a first desired value signal (r1); a second control circuit (P2, C2) for controlling the second quantity based on a second desired value signal (r2); and a calcuting means (CU) for calculating the second desired value signal (r2). The calculating means (CU) communicates with the first and the second control circuits (P1, C1; P2, C2) and is designed to receive a ratio value signal (a), the first desired value signal (r1) and a first actual value signal (y1), which corresponds to the first quantity, and based on these signals (a, r1, y1) generate the second desired value signal (r2), preferably according to the relation r2 = a( gamma 1 + (1 - gamma )y1), gamma being a weighting factor which is selected for optimal control.
