Abstract

The upstream side of the fixed capture device (4) for the large particles is cleaned using a suction nozzle (7) linked by a suction pipe to a point in the gas channel further downstream from the reactor. The partial gas flow travelling along the suction pipe is controlled by a throttle and is used to return removed particles to the main gas flow. A method for treating a flow of gas (A) containing particulate contaminants through a reactor comprising narrow gas channels (1) is used to prevent blockage of these channels. Large particles are selectively captured using a fixed capture device (3), which is cleaned by guiding a suction nozzle over its upstream side and then returning the partial gas flow sucked up by the nozzle to the main gas flow at a point (15) further downstream in the gas channel. The vacuum generated in the suction nozzle is obtained by connecting the nozzle with the above point further downstream in the gas channel. Throttling is used to regulate this partial gas flow.
