Abstract

Tongue-shaped coupling sections protruding beyond the insulation material core in the panel length direction are coupled with a beam (5) made from thermal insulation material. The beam includes a fastener section formed by two outer sides (5A, 5B) of the beam, for receiving screws or other fasteners used to join the panels together. The beam is received by the void formed between two panels lying side by side and the fasteners are passed through the coupling and fastener sections. - The panels have a sandwich structure based on a core of cellular foam thermal insulation material and surface panels bonded to either side of the core. - TECHNOLOGY FOCUS - POLYMERS - The cellular foam insulation material is e.g. polystyrene.
