Abstract

The gear box (1) has numerous gearings extending between internal and external gear wheels. An planetary-type auxiliary gear box with a planetary wheel support (22) can be coupled to the external gear wheels. The planetary wheel support is used to couple an internal gear wheel with a differential gearing between two drive wheel axles in the vehicle. A coupling sleeve (17) coordinated with the planetary gearing can adopt a first position in which momentum from the external gear wheels is transferred without losing revolutions, or a second position in which momentum is transferred to the external gear wheels, accompanied by a change in revolutions. A planetary wheel (27) in the auxiliary gear box engages with a non-rotatable fixed outer ring wheel (29) and also with an inner wheel (26). Friction plates (50, 51) driven by and connectable to the planetary wheel cooperate with friction plates (52, 53) that are mounted on separate drive wheel axles (38, 39).
