Abstract

The invention relates to a separator element 1 for use in facade elements constituting the facing of buildings. The facade elements comprise a flattish material layer 7, the first surface 8 of which acts as the visible part of the facade element. The facade element further comprises a supporting structure 12, especially a so-called welded mesh reinforcement, which is situated in connection with the second surface 9 of the material layer 7. A plurality of separator elements 1 are placed in the material layer 7, especially in connection with the manufacture of the facade element, in order to keep the supporting structure 12 at a certain distance from the first, visible surface 8 of the material layer 7. The separator element 1 contains female parts 3a placed in a direction essentially perpendicular to the principal plane of the material layer 7 in the installed position of the separator element 1, which female parts at least partially constitute spacers 3, which, in the separator element 1, keep the supporting structure 12 at a certain distance from the first, visible surface 8 of the material layer 7. <IMAGE>
