Abstract

A device for connecting various types of under-sized pipes or tubes to clamping collet couplings. The device includes a conical collet having two necks which fill the space created by the difference in dimension between the tube and the nominal dimension for which the coupling is intended, a guiding neck extending into the coupling body and a centering neck extending into the coupling nut. A conical support socket introduced into the end of the tube will cause this end to expand towards the interior of the coupling. The conical collet, which consists of softened material, fills essentially the space between coupling body and coupling nut when the coupling is tightened.
