Abstract

The shock absorber comprises a cylinder (3) in which is a working piston (1). It is arranged to work with displacement altering function one or the other or both directions (7,8). To effect this function the piston incorporates one or more activatable members (10) which producing the displacement alteration. These members are rings which are moved and altered as to shape by use of pressure (P1-P2 or P2-P1) which arises in the work medium with movement direction alterations. The displacement alteration produces a little absorbing resistance, or no resistance at all, when the shock absorber executes a short stroke, i.e. at high wheel frequencies.
