Abstract

The mechanism (10) between the door and the foot step (8) is responsible for movement transmission between them and has a base (28) fixed to the vehicle on which is a four-way mechanism with at one end a manoeuvring rod (30) activated by the door pivoting movement and at the other end a lowering arm is activated (48) which is connected to the foot step via an intermediately coupled support (50). The movement transmission between the manoeuvring rod and the lowering arm occurs via an overload protection (44) forming part of the mechanism which in the released, open state permits opening and closing of the door despite the face that the foot step cannot follow the door guide movement.
