Abstract

The platform consists of an adaptor block (2), a swivel plate (3) and a clamping plate (4) on which the workpiece or tool is held. The swivel plate has two locating surfaces (5,6) which mate with surfaces (5', 6') on the clamping plate (4). The surfaces are cylindrical in form and define a pivot axis (9). Also the swivel plate has similar cylindrical locating surfaces (7, 8) mating with surfaces (7', 8') on the adaptor block (2) and defining a second pivot axis (10) at right angles to the first. USE/ADVANTAGE - Especially suited to EDM machines and other machine tools. Positioning is precise and simple, and is independent of distortion of clamped object.
