Vapourisers are provided for each temp. compartment plus two upstream chokes controlled by respective regulators as a function of compartment temp.. The lower temp. compartment regulator controls the compressor circuit and the higher temp. regulator controls its associated choke. The vapouriser (10) for the lower temp. compartment (2) has a down-stream vaporising sector (10') to take sec. heat from the higher temp. compartment (3) as loaded liq. with coolant by the upstream vapouriser (10). USE/ADVNATAGE - Hospital equipment, instruments etc. Compact unit cuts energy cost and space requirements and avoids fluid shock, only switching on when freshly loaded.
