Abstract

The antenna has an antenna element (10) positioned on a substrate. The element has two orthogonal slots (11,12) which form a cross. On the opposite face, a broadband, symmetrical 90 degree hybrid coupler (20) has two branches which have phases different by one quarter of a wavelength. The branches are coupled respectively to the antenna element slots. At leat one of the branches receives a radiated signal at its input (21,21'). The signal is applied selectively to the hybrid coupler inputs as a function of direction for circular polarisation.
