Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a device for combined rail/road transport, comprising semi-trailers (1) and bogies (3a and 3b), on which the semi-trailers can rest and be fastened by their front end or by their rear end, as desired, so as to form a train comprising a series of semi-trailers and bogies. The semi-trailer (1) comprises a suspension of variable height and at the front possesses two jaws (6) with automatic closing and controlled opening and bearing stays (5) and at the rear possesses two pivots (8) spaced transversely from one another. Some of the bogies are intended to be arranged between two semi-trailers (1) and the others to be located either at one or at the other of the ends of the train formed; an intermediate bogie (3a) comprises, on the one hand, a central crossmember (11) equipped with two double jaws (12) which have the same relative arrangement as the rear pivots (8) of a semi-trailer, are mounted in rotating blocks (13) and are capable of being coupled to said rear pivots (8) and, on the other hand, two plates (15) which are mounted tiltably relative to the crossmember (11) about a transverse axis and which each carry a pivot (16) capable of being coupled in the front jaws (6) of a semi-trailer; an end bogie (3b) comprises a crossmember (18) equipped, on the one hand, with two double jaws (19) with automatic closing and controlled opening, which have the same relative arrangement as the pivots (8) of a semi-trailer and which are capable of being coupled to these rear pivots, and, on the other hand, with a pivot (20) capable of being locked in the front jaws (6) of a semi-trailer and with an anchorage (21) capable of receiving the key-man (4) of a semi-trailer, as well as a jack (23) capable of exerting a pull or a push on the front of a semi-trailer (1). <IMAGE>
