Abstract

A method for filling a sealed and sterile container, particularly bottles, in a sterile manner. The invention is characterized in that in a first step, a sterile gas is passed through a gas-tight chamber (6). In a second step, the neck (11) of the bottle is brought into sealing abutment with an opening (7) in the chamber (6), and in a third step a vacuum is created in the chamber. In a fourth step, the bottle seal (10), which preferably has the form of a rubber stopper pressed into the bottle neck, is removed and the pressure in the chamber equalized . In a fifth step, a sterile gas is passed through the bottle, and in a sixth step, the bottle is filled through a filling pipe. The bottle is resealed in a seventh step, whereafter the bottle is moved away from the opening (7) of the chamber (6). The invention also relates to apparatus for carrying out the method.
