Abstract

The skimming disc (1) consists of channel-forming ribs (2) arranged between the upper- and lower cover plates (10). The ribs (2) have curved side surfaces (3, 4) forming the discharge channels (6). The curved side surfaces are designed in such a way the their intersection edge (5) is located at the largest diameter of the skimming disc (1). The skimming disc is mounted by its bore (10) on the inlet tube of the centrifugal separator. ADVANTAGE - The design aims at eliminating cavitation occurrences on the inlet openings.
