Abstract

A material stop for positioning of plate-shaped material on work tables, especially sheet billets 4 on cutting tables. The material stop comprises a stop arm 30 which, by means of a manoeuvring apparatus 21, is displaceable between a rest position and a working position in which the front end of the stop arm 30 juts out over the table plane. The stop arm 30 has an upper arm 31, which is suspended from the table by means of a first hinge joint 33, and a lower arm 32, which is connected to the upper arm 31 by means of a second hinge joint 36, the axis 37 of which is parallel with the axis 34 of the first hinge joint 33. Upon displacement of the stop arm 30, the lower arm 32 is controlled by a control member 15, stop lugs 38,39,39' at both hinge joints 33,36 using the force from the manoeuvring apparatus 21 to lock the stop arm in the working position. <IMAGE>
