Abstract

An arrangement for detecting the measuring irregular workpieces (2) contains a measurement zone (3), a conveyor, two beam sources (8) suitably arranged wrt. the delivery plane and which emit bams alternately, a number of beam detector elements (9) and a signal computer which computes the desired workpiece measurement data form the detector output signals. A third source (14) emits a beam which is detected by the detectors when not blocked by a workpiece, thus enabling measurement of the external workpiece contours. USE/ADVANTAGE - For reliably detecting and measuring irregular workpieces such as planks of adverse reflection characteristics or geometric shapes.
