Abstract

The invention concerns a process for high-temperature pyrolysis of biomass, in which the biomass and the coke are alternately allowed to pass through two heat magazines 12A, 12B with heating of the one heat magazine by combustion of the coke formed during the pyrolysis phase in this heat magazine, and during pyrolysis of the biomass in the other heat magazine heated during the preceding combustion phase, so that heat from the combustion phase is used during the pyrolysis phase and the coke formed during the pyrolysis phase is used as fuel in the combustion phase. <IMAGE>
