Abstract

The soil deck is intended, inter alia, for concrete slabs on soil. The deck is made up of moulded spar bodies of cellular plastic and, cast on top of these, a concrete slab. Compared to traditional techniques using a solid slab, a slab is here obtained which has less intrinsic weight. The invention also provides the possibility of greater span widths, a need for fewer piles and smaller amounts of reinforcement, which results in good cost savings. A very rigid slab and good insulation are also obtained. The soil deck is also used in place of overloading in the form of heavy fillers of the coarse aggregate or coarse gravel type on soil sensitive to subsidence. Insulation bodies 3 are laid out on the soil 1, for example, so that spaces 4 are formed between top parts protruding from the base 1.
