Abstract

A moisture trap especially for cable inlets in cable connecting cabinets of the type in which the cables are surrounded by an especially flexible foam material cap or by a rubber material connecting stub on a sidewall bushing or on a wall in the cabinet which is installed such that moisture cannot penetrate it, is described, the foam material cap being formed as a block (5) which is contained in a preferably tubular housing (1) which is matched to the size of the block (5) and in whose opposite side walls (2A-2B, 3A-3B, 2AA-2BB, 3AA-3BB) cable bushing openings are formed which are opposite in the same manner and whose opening cross-sectional area is greater than or equal to that of the cable, and it being possible to arrange the block (5) contained in the housing (1) in a holding or retaining device (6). Further refinements of the foam material block (5), of the housing (1) and of the holding or retaining device (6) are described. A moisture trap which operates in an improved manner and a trap which is cheaper and allows the cables to bend after they have been pushed through is created. <IMAGE>
