Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device for grading timber, where the timber is conveyed, depending on its type, to different compartments 11 which are opened in order to lead the timber collected in the compartment 11 to a conveyor belt 14 which is situated under the compartments 11 and which carries the timber onwards to subsequent treatment stages. A discharging limit member 15 is introduced under the compartment 11 which is to be emptied. When the timber is emptied from the compartment 11 and transferred on the conveyor belt 14 underneath, the timber which is discharged to the said conveyor belt is limited by the discharging limit stop arrangement 15 which can be moved away from this compartment. <IMAGE>
