Abstract

PURPOSE: To release the contents automatically by providing a relay conveyer with a grasping frame which supports articles from both sides and rotating said grasping frame on the way to invert said articles.
CONSTITUTION: An inversion apparatus 3 is installed in the middle of a conveyer line. It is set to receive a box holding mail between a conveyer 6 and 4, and then make it empty so as to carry out the empty box. A number of grasping frames 20 installed on an endless chain 16 are connected to said apparatus 3. Said grasping frame 20 is set in such that an almost U-shaped frame is provided with a member grasping the box from both sides and a shaft 22 of said grasping member is provided with a rotary crossbar 23, which may turn the box by hitting a guide pin 32, and so that the contents may be automatically released.
