Abstract

An invalid hoist has a lifting arm 3 mounted at the inner end thereof on a support structure or column 1 of the hoist. The arm 3 is secured at the outer end to the housing 13 of a vertical bearing for the support of an invalid support member. The arm 23 comprises two links 9, 10 of a parallelogram linkage, one of these links 9 being disposed within a central space within the other link 10 of the linkage. <IMAGE>
