Abstract

A pressurised classifier for screening a liquid suspension, which contains useful fibres and useless impurities, has a closed housing (10) in which a fixed cylindrical screen (32) for forming a stock chamber (56) is arranged. An axially extending annular channel (34) takes up the suspension. The useful fibres pass through the screen (32) into the stock chamber (56) and through a stock outlet (54) out of the housing (10). The useless impurities are discharged from the housing (10) through an outlet opening (66) for wastes. Scrapers (74, 76) pass over the waste outlet opening (66) in order to prevent blockage or bridging of this opening. <IMAGE>
