Abstract

The one (5) of the two cylinder chambers is filled with gas at a specific pressure, whilst the other (6) communicates with the pressure side of a hydraulic system. A cylindrical and concentric containser (11) encloses the cylinder (1). - Between the outer wall of the cylinder (1) and the container wall is a third chamber (12) communicating with the gas-filled chamber (5) via at least one aperture (13) in the cylinder, and is not affected by movement of the piston. Thus, the same pressure is present on opposite sides of the cylinder wall which is relatively thin.
