Abstract
An actuator has one or more bellows composed of annular elements (2) which are brazed, soldered, welded or bonded together at alternately large and small diameter zones. An output member (5) of the actuator is movable by pressurizing or evacuating the bellows. The output member (5) runs along a straight or curved guide rod (3) inside the bellows. A preferred method of producing the bellows consists of interposing spelter rings (11 and 12) between the annular elements and positioning the assembly on a ceramic rod. The ring stack is tightened in the axial direction and the spelter rings are fused in a furnace. The bellows so produced is deformed by the application of a maximum internal pressure. <IMAGE>
