Abstract

Anthracycline glycosides I <IMAGE> (R=H or OH, X=H or COCF3) are prepared by condensing 1-hydroxy-4-demethoxy-11-deoxy-daunomycinone with a protected derivative of daunosamine and have antitumour properties.
