Abstract

The invention relates to a device for the triggering of ignition sequences in internal combustion engines with capacitor discharge ignition. The device has two trigger circuits (19, 14, 15 and 10, 16, 17) containing differently timed and/or phased signal sources, which circuits comprise windings (9 and 10) fitted on separate limbs of a ferromagnetic core. Under the effect of the magnetic poles (2 and 3) present in a flywheel trigger signals, variable with the engine speed, are induced in the windings. The succeeding trigger circuit (10, 16, 17) is equipped with a trigger signal-deriving circuit (31, 32, 35, 36), controlled by the trigger circuit (1, 14, 15) first influenced, which circuit (31, 32, 33, 36), after triggering, derives the residual trigger signal energy generated by the said succeeding trigger circuit (10, 16, 17). This prevents the trigger voltage from exerting an influence on the succeeding capacitor charging sequence. The invention also relates to an engine speed limiting circuit, in which the said residual trigger signal energy is used to prevent exceeding of a maximum speed by influencing the capacitor charging sequence. <IMAGE>
