Abstract

A floating body which when fitted to the hull (25) of a vessel provides a watertight compartment (10a) defined by two side walls (11, 12) a rear wall (13) and a bottom structure (14). The floating body is provided with sealing members (15) and with ballast tanks (16, 17, 18). These comprise at least two tanks (16) located in the bottom structure (14) at a distance from the rear wall (13), and at least two outer and inner tanks (17 and 18, respectively) extending vertically above and below the water surface (19). <IMAGE>
