Abstract

Arrangement for use in installations for steam treatment, for example of wood, and connected to an arrangement for producing live steam. The installation comprises an injection unit 10 and a misting chamber 16. The injection unit is designed to blow the steam into the misting chamber for treating the wood 6. A conveyor 5 extends through the misting chamber 16 for the purpose of bringing the wood 6 through the chamber with simultaneous treatment with the steam blown in from the injection unit 10. The steam which is blown into the misting chamber is re-circulated by means of a suction arrangement 14, 18, 19 coupled to the injection unit 10 so that the steam is suctioned out at one part and blown in at another part of the misting chamber at a distance from the suction position. The suction arrangement comprises suction openings 18, 19 at the top of the misting chamber, a steam suction line 14 connected to the said suction openings and designed to supply collected steam to the injection unit 10. The injection unit comprises a flow chamber 11 to which the steam suction line 14 and a supply line 8 for supply of live steam are connected, and an injection line 12 which extends out from the flow chamber 11 for connection to the misting chamber 16. When live steam is conveyed past the steam suction line in the flow chamber in order to be blown out into the injection line, an underpressure develops in the flow chamber, so that steam is suctioned out from the misting chamber and mixed with the live steam and then re-injected. <IMAGE>
