Abstract

A hydraulic dual-circuit brake force booster for vehicle brake systems includes a pedal-operated push rod (9) which passes through a master brake cylinder piston in the form of an annular piston (3). During normal operation, an hydraulic boost control valve is actuated via control rod (9) by the actuation of a pedal and, if the accumulator pressure should fail, the push rod (9) is positively connected to the annular piston (3) by a lock (32) which moves in a transverse direction in a guide (33) and is held in locking position by a locking pin (29) on an adjusting piston (25). The piston (25) is normally held inoperative by accumulator pressure (P) and is actuated by spring (28) on failure of such pressure. <IMAGE>
