Abstract
A heat exchanger (10), particularly an evaporator for a domestic freezing appliance, is formed through bending of the connecting chords (13) interconnecting individual elements (A to D) of a contiguous planar pipe structure (11) with turns running to and fro between at least nearly parallel lateral boundary lines, the individual elements in the finished exchanger being disposed substantially congruently in parallel planes. The connecting chords (13) are formed through straightening pipe bends which initially project beyond one of the lateral boundaries and which are bent out of the plane of the structure (11) nearly at right angles near this boundary. <IMAGE>
