Abstract
Process for delivering via a sprazing nozzle powder grains charged in an electrostatic charging arrangement (1) by friction charging in curved elongated ducts made of electrically non-conducting material, these powder grains being conveyed in a stream of air through the arrangement (1) and out through an outlet (7) in a nozzle component (6). The invention makes possible the effective conveying and delivery of charged powder grains to desired locations a considerable distance away from the delivery unit, whilst simultaneously enabling an even coating thickness of powder to be obtained. After delivery through the powder delivery outlet (7) the powder (16) is influenced by compressed air (17) or the like which flows out through a plurality of air supply outlets (10) spaced at a distance from the said outlet (7), and which is designed to display a higher pressure than that of the stream of powder flowing out so that, with an ejector-like effect, the powder is entrained in a guiding and supporting jet (18) formed by the said compressed air (17) with higher impulsion so that an increase in the speed of the powder particles is obtained, together with control of the form of the cloud of powder (16) delivered through the powder delivery outlet (7). The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the process effectively.
