Abstract

In a hot-gas engine system in an underwater vehicle, heater devices of a hot-gas engine are assigned a heater heat generation system which operates independently of the external air pressure and of the underwater pressure and in a manner free from positive pressure or at a low pressure of up to about 6 bar. The said system comprises a combustion device, which is supplied with fuel, oxygen and recirculated exhaust gases or exhaust gas components. Devices are also provided for storing oxygen or oxidants. Devices are also provided for preparing the oxygen required for combustion and for heating the latter. The heater heat generation system furthermore comprises devices for further treatment of the exhaust gases after they have flowed through the heater devices, with means for utilising the heat of the exhaust gas for preheating the oxygen or oxidant and means for at least partial recirculation of the exhaust gas or exhaust gas components to the combustion device. The heater heat generation system furthermore has devices for disposing of exhaust gases, comprising means for separating the exhaust gases into their components, namely water and carbon dioxide, and furthermore comprises means for liquefying these components and, in addition, means for storing these components in the liquid state on board the underwater vehicle.
