Abstract

Apparatus for feeding side boards in a sawmill immediately after sawing a log or a block into a central portion (16) and side boards, (17, 18, 19, 20) comprising a longitudinal conveyor (1) for transporting the central portion in its longitudinal direction, movable supporting planes (2, 3) supplied on both sides of the longitudinal conveyor for temporarily holding up the side boards, and side supports (4, 5) for supporting the side boards in side direction. A slope (6, 7) is provided beneath the longitudinal conveyor on both sides of if, along which the side boards (17, 18, 19, 20) slide down onto a transverse conveyor (12, 13), and the slopes are provided with stopping means (8, 9) to stop the inner side boards (19, 20) while the outer boards (17, 18) continue their travel towards the transverse conveyor.
