Abstract
In the electrode, similar frame portions each have shallow troughs (11) in which a lead grid (10B) is arranged with active material. The frame portions are arranged back-to-back and the active material is covered by a pervious web (23). The frame portions are of plastics and can be formed in one piece subsequently folded to bring them back-to-back. Pref. the troughs are V-shaped. Pref. positive electrodes are made up of such frames in a sealed maintenance-free lead acid battery. Flat, pasted negative electrodes are separated by flat, thin micro-porous glass wool separators contg. acid. Acid reservoirs of micro-porous PVC are provided between the parts of the positive electrodes. The electrodes are contained in a box having terminal posts.
