Abstract
Two or more heat pumps (12-14) are used to transmit heat energy from a source (11) at low temp. to a return conduit (10). At least one heat pump (12) is held connected between the heat source and the return conduit with low heat requirement, whilst another (14) is connected similarly for high heat requirement. The latter pump is connected in the return conduit between upstream and downstream points if the other pumps are connected between the source and the return conduit with average heat requirement in the installation.
