Abstract

An armoured vehicle has a rotatable turret cupola 2 housing a mortar 12 with an open drum magazine 13 and mounted in the turret cupola 2 is a roller 15 rotatable about the elevation axis 39 and through the aperture 45 of which the weapon barrel 43 of the mortar projects. On the floor the mortar 12 is, for the purposes of being brought to bear in elevation, mobile on a rail 16 which is arcuate about the elevation axis 39. Arranged beside the weapon barrel 43 is a periscope 35 the tube of which also passes through the roller 15 and is rotatable about the elevation axis 39. Furthermore, ammunition containers (9, 10) are provided in the turret cupola. Entry into the turret cupola 2 is effected either through the roof aperture 41 or through apertures 5, (6) in the cylinder jacket 42. <IMAGE>
