Abstract

The device for splitting wood comprises a forwards and backwards moving pressure unit disposed in a groove comprising two side plates. In both ends of the groove are inclined vertical cutting blades, and behind these in the direction of movement of the wood are horizontal raisable and lowerable splitting blades. - The pressure unit is moved automatically backwards and forwards by a pressure cylinder activated by a valve. The cylinder changes direction by means of stops on a rod moving with the pressure unit. This movement changeover is also assisted by a position amplifier weight fitted on the adjustment arm for the valve and provided with two stops.
