Abstract

The pyrolysis occurs in a hot gas environment which is set up by the gasification of fuel. Unpyrolysed material and/or carboniferous residue from the pyrolysis is used. The temp. used is so high that the incombustible components melt to a liq. slag. The pyrolysis fuel and hot gas are contacted with each other under such conditions that quick pyrolysis occurs and the de-composition of the higher hydrocarbons occurs in the gas phase.
