Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the measurement of the rate of propagation of the explosion of explosive substance of slight explosion light or explosive substance which does not produce any explosion light by having the rays being sent through optical fibers prior to explosion sensed thence superposing the rays accompanied with the explosion to these.
CONSTITUTION: There is virtually no change in the voltage waveform emitted from photoelectric devices 6a and 6b merely when artifitial light sources 1a, 1b are lighting, but when the reaction waves arrive at the measurement point 4a owing to the explosion in a reaction pipe 4, a change occurs in the voltage waveform from the photoelectric device 6a and the change point of the voltage waveform is recorded in the first channel of a recording display device 1. Similarly, the change point of the voltage waveform from the photoelectric device 6b enters the second channel of the recording display device 7 and the change point of the voltage waveform in stored. The time interval between these two points is displayed in the recording display device 7. From the time interval and the distance between the measurement points 4a and 4b, the rate of propagation of explosion may be sensibly and accurately obtained.
