Abstract

Air duct arrangement (11) in a window frame (13) where the air duct extends right through the window frame from a valve (10) on the inwardly facing side (15) of the frame to an air inlet column (22) on the outwardly facing side (20) of the frame. The air duct (11) has an air inlet portion (11b) arranged just inside the outwardly facing side (20) of the frame with the inlet opening (19) facing inwardly towards an adjacent peripheral portion of the window sash (14). On the outwardly facing side (20) the frame has an edge portion (24) which shields the air inlet portion (11b) of the air duct while the air inlet forms an internal cavity in the frame just inside the said edge portion (24). There is formed a pressure compensating chamber between the inner main portion (11a) and an outer gap (26) of the air duct between frame (13) and sash (14). The arrangement protects the air duct against hard rain. <IMAGE>
