Abstract

Gearbox, in particular for motor vehicles, with a driving and a driven shaft which carry pulleys 8, 18, between which pulleys torque is transmitted by means of a V-belt or chain 33. The pulleys consist of disc parts 13, 14, 19, 20 movable towards and away from each other, to enable variation of the speed ratio between the shafts. The movement of the discs and the squeezing force against the V-belt are controlled by means of hydraulic cylinder devices. The hydraulic cylinder 11 of the driving shaft is connected with a gear 6 arranged concentrically with the cylinder and engaging a gear 6 on the input shaft 1 of the gearbox. <IMAGE>
