Abstract

The heat exchanger is used for remote heating systems in which primary and secondary flows occur through two separate chambers with heat exchange occurring through a wall separating the chambers. The separating wall has at least one passage through which medium can flow to indicate leakage. The passage has the form of a gap formed by one or both pipes (1,2) involved, prior to shrinkage together. The pipes are provided with at least one groove which, when the pipes are joined, acts as a gap for conveyance of leaking medium.
