Abstract

The pump and motor unit with the pump impeller (13) mounted on the end of the motor spindle (11), has the impeller retained by an intermediate locking ring (15). The rotor has a hub, which fits over the end of the spindle, with a recess (153) in its outer end, forming a shoulder (135) level with the end of the spindle. This recess carries an internal screw thread (134) for the externally threaded ring. The ring itself also has a recess at its outer end, for the head (161) of a securing bolt (16) which screws into a tapped hole (114) in the spindle, locking the whole assembly together.
