Abstract
In a tank for encasing an oil-cooled electromagnetic induction apparatus having circumferential wall made of thin steel plates undulated to provide a plurality of vertically extending rib-like projections which are closed by welding at the upper and lower ends thereof, and an end frame and a bottom plate respectively secured to the upper and lower ends of the circumferential wall, each of the steel plates forming a substantial part of the circumferential wall is undulated to provide an even number of projection groups, each group including a plurality of vertically extending rib-like projections 11a, and also to provide at least a flat portion 11 located intermediate of the projection groups, the steel plate thus undulated is then bent at two positions in the flat portion so that the rib-like projections in the projection groups are brought into opposition to each other. Since the arrangement has a greater number of rib-like projections, heat dissipating capability of the tank is much improved. Support bars 16 and plates 21 covering oil passages are provided. <IMAGE>
