Abstract
A progressive pneumatic starter device 1 has a permanently connected throttle path between its inlet 15 and its outlet 8 and, in parallel, a longer diameter path controlled by a distributor or member 3 which is biased by spring 28 to a position interrupting this path and moved to its open position by pressure applied at 10 and through control channel 29 to move piston 27 against the force of spring 28. The starter device is advantageously placed upstream of a pneumatic switching means 38 (controlling a plurality of rams) to which it is directly associated for the purpose of shortening its channels for transfer of fluid. A pneumatic threshold relay valve (67), Fig. 5, (not shown) may be placed between the control line inlet 10 and point 61. <IMAGE>
