Abstract

A heat exchanger device has a heat exchanger 12 of the tube-inside-tube type which has three tubular parts 20, 22, 24 placed coaxially one inside another having distributors 26, 28 on each longitudinal end of the heat exchanger for the circulation of a fluid through the outer tube 20 in counter-current relative to the fluid flowing through the inner part 24, such that heat exchange may occur between the two. In the intermediate tubular part 22, a fluid is present so that a leak in the outer 20 or inner 24 part may be detected. Each tubular part 20, 22, 24 has fins 100, 106, 112 directed radially inwards in its bore, whereby the fins 100 of the outer part 20 is in good thermal contact with the intermediate part 22, the fins 106 of which in turn being in good thermal contact with the inner part 24, such that an effective heat flow path is obtained therebetween. <IMAGE>
