Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration of life by using as a driving source a stretching and shrinking mechanism by means of configuration memory alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A heat sensing valve 3 that fixes a driving means which consists of a configuration memory alloy 5 that is fixed at its one end and stretches and shrinks with temperature is installed on the cooling side that is on the left inner side of a channel for the working liquid in a heat pipe 1, and the cooling side of the pipe 1 is constituted to close the valve 3 when heated. In this arrangement, when the right end temperature is higher than the left end temperature in the figure, the pipe 1 performs highly efficient heat conduction; when, on the contrary, the left end temperature is higher than the right end temperature, the pipe 1 stops its function to conduct heat. The pipe 1 is, therefore, unidirectional and deterioration and leakage due to deterioration in bellows conventionally used by their stretching and shrinking can be avoided.
