Abstract

A sheath for electrical conductors and wave guides comprises a non- expanded, porous linear polymer having a degree of cell formation of at least 60% by volume of the sheath and preferably from 70 to 85%. The sheath may be applied e.g. by extrusion, to the conductor or wave guide as a homogeneous mixture of at least one polymer and an inert liquid in molten form which is then solidified. The polymer used is preferably polypropylene alone or with other polyolefins.
