Abstract

Equipment for degreasing and/or cleaning articles has a plurality of treatment vessels (1) in series, a system (2) for moving the articles in baskets (3) into and out of and between treatment vessels, a loading/unloading station (4), a covering hood (5) having extraction fittings (6) and a loading/unloading aperture (7), and a transfer tunnel (9) formed inside the covering hood (5) by means of party walls (8), the transfer tunnel being adapted as a cooling channel, as by forming the party walls (8) as thermal insulation and fitting the transfer tunnel (9) with internal tubes or coils (11) preferably in the path of the exhaust air stream towards the extraction fittings, the tubes or coils preferably being adapted as turbulence lattices, and the party walls (8) forming the floor of the transfer tunnel (9) preferably being constructed with drainage troughs leading to drainage outlets. <IMAGE>
